The Ramadan War demonstrated that artificial intelligence and systems like “Maven” have been moved to the center of U.S. military operations, aggregating field data to dramatically accelerate targeting and decision-making. At the same time, Silicon Valley’s role in modern warfare has become more prominent, with parts of the military’s intelligence and operational infrastructure being outsourced to technology companies. This transformation, alongside increased efficiency, has raised questions about targeting accuracy, civilian casualties, and the dependence of national security on private-sector actors.

The twelve‑day cyber war between Iran and Israel (June 13–24) began with Operation Rising Lion, leading to a 700 percent surge in cyberattacks against Israeli infrastructure. Unit 8200, responsible for SIGINT, codebreaking, and cyber warfare, played a central role in this confrontation. Since the 1950s, this unit has evolved into one of the world’s most advanced cyber military divisions, with its alumni later founding major companies such as Check Point, CyberArk, and Palo Alto Networks.

The Intercept website has published findings from an extensive investigation revealing that Amazon has provided cloud computing services to Israeli arms manufacturers, which were reportedly used in military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Following the October 7 attack, the Israeli regime initiated the extensive deployment of artificial intelligence in its military operations, including integration with facial-recognition systems to identify wounded combatants, audio-analysis of communications to geolocate targets, and Arabic-language natural-language processing to monitor messages and social-media traffic. These technologies have been employed in the targeted assassination of Hamas commanders and the recovery of hostages, and have been incrementally refined over time.
