Latest Updates on Afghanistan, 14 April 2020

1. Jozjan:
Following the security forces operation in the Jozjan province the Kham Ab district and the village of Diw Qalaa were liberated from the Taliban control.

2. Qandahar:
The commander of the security forces in this province claimed that during the captives exchange, Taliban have released civilians as central government military captives.

3. US and Taliban negotiations:
Zelmai Khalilzad met with Taliban representatives in Qatar about peace agreement comparative topics, delay in captives exchange and violations in agreement.
Also Khalilzad and Gen. Scott Miller (US forces commander in Afghanistan) discussed with Qamar Javid Bajouh (Pakistan Army chief of staff) about peace process in Afghanistan.

4. Pakistan extended closing its borders with Afghanistan for another two weeks.
