The US Secretary of Defense will visit India

The trip is aimed at boosting military cooperation and countering China’s growing power and influence in the Asia-Pacific region. The US Secretary of Defense is scheduled to meet with Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. The meeting, which is expected to take place on March 15, is the first of a new US administration official to visit India.

Given the tensions between China and India, the country wants to cooperate and increase military and security exchanges with the United States in order to modernize its defense system.

Manufacturers of defense industries in the United States hope to strengthen their market in India by boosting US-India relations which is one of the largest consumers in the defense industry in the world.
