A French National Killed In Syria’s Idlib
ISWNews Analysis Group – One of the militants of Al-Gharba sect was killed in consequence of the recent strikes by the Syrian Army in Jabal al-Zawiyah (Zawiya Mountain), northwestern Syria.
The Al-Gharba militants confirmed the death of Abu Hamza Al-Fransi in the Syrian army strikes on the Jabal al-Zawiyah region, which is located in the south of Idlib Governorate.
Abu Hamzah came from the Nice city in southern France. He arrived in Syria in 2017 in order to join the militants groups.
It is noteworthy that there are different militant groups like the Al-Gharba sect, who are less influential than the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in that region, which is under the control of Tahrir al-Sham in Idlib Governorate and the surrounding areas. The Al-Gharba sect comprises French and Belgian militants and the group was founded by a French-Senegalese man called Omar Omes.
