Unidentified Drone Strikes Positions Of Wagner Forces In Libya
A military base belonging to the Wagner Group in Libya was pounded by unidentified drone. The Thursday night attack on the Wagner forces base in Libya did not result in any casualties.
ISWNews Analysis Group – A mysterious combat drone pounded the Al-Kharouba (Al-Khadim) air base, which is home to Wagner Group’s forces in eastern Libya on July 29.
The Al-Khrouba air base is located 105 kilometers southwest of Benghazi in the Libyan province of Al-Marj, where is under the control of the Libyan National Army under the command of General Khalifa Belqasim Haftar.
After General Haftar’s request for military assistance from Russia and the deployment of Wagner Group’s forces to Libya, the air base turned into one of the points where members of the Wagner group were stationed.
In addition to its own Russian forces, the private paramilitary company Wagner Group has also employed militants from Chad, Sudan, Niger and Syria, whose failed operations to occupy capital Tripoli and northwestern Libya were among their activities in the African country.
These Wagner forces are said to be active in securing and operating oil fields in eastern and southern Libya.
