Afghanistan: Taliban captured Delaram district in Nimroz province
The district of Delaram is located between the cities of Farah and Lashkar Gah, and with its capture by the Taliban, the route between the two cities will be cut off.
The town of Farah Rud and the army base in the area have also been captured by the Taliban. The Taliban captured the base on July 4, and clashes in the area have continued to this day. With the withdrawal of government forces from these positions, the advance of the Taliban in Farah Rud was stabilized.
Currently, the most important points in southwestern Afghanistan that remain under the control of government forces are: Farah city, Bakwa, Abu Nasr Farahi crossing, Lashkar Gah city, Zaranj and Chakhansur cities near the Zabul border and most importantly Camp Shorabak(Bastion) in the west of Lashkar Gah city.
