Latest Military Situation in Ukraine, 1 November 2022

ISWNews Analysis Group: In recent days, the Russian army has launched new attacks on the northern axis of Donetsk city airport and other fronts of this province.

1- On October 24, protesters against Viktor Orban’s government held a mass rally and demonstration in Budapest on the anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution. According to European media, around 80,000 people participated in these protests and demanded that the government deal seriously with inflation and wage increases.
Europe’s decisions to adopt economic sanctions against Russia have led to an increase in energy prices in this continent, and with the arrival of the cold season, its results will gradually be visible in the general situation of European countries.

2- Kherson:
– On October 25, Ukrainian media claimed to have shot down an Orlan-10 drone and a Shahed-131 suicide drone (a small version of Shahed-136) on the Kherson front in southern Ukraine. The video below is also related to the wreckage of the same Shahed drone, which remained somewhat intact and fell into the hands of the Ukrainians.

– Artillery duel has been going on between the two sides in Mylove (under Russian control) and Dudchany (under Ukrainian control) axis, and the ground attacks have decreased. Also, Russian forces have strengthened their positions in the western axis of Mylove. The exchange of fire between the Ukrainian and Russian soldiers in the area south of Davidyv Brid has also continued, and both sides are trying to advance and stabilize their positions. Despite these, no specific changes have been made in the lines of this axis.
– Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed four HIMARS and Olkha rockets and seven AGM-88 HARM missiles in Nova Kakhovka, according to Russian MOD.

3- Kharkiv:
– On October 25, following the Ukrainian army operation in the south-east of Kharkiv province, Miasozharivka, Terny and Yampolivka regions came under the control of Ukrainian forces. At present, sporadic clashes continue around Dibrova in the west of Kerminna and Kuzemivka in the west of Svatove.

4- Donetsk:
– On October 24, Russian forces attacked Pervomaiske, Vodyane, and Nevelske areas near Pesky district located in the northwest axis of Donetsk city. Russian army forces have taken control of the Peski-Vodyane road and have entered Vodyane village. The conflict is going on in this village and in the outskirts of Nevelske. The Russian army’s control over these areas can be considered as an opportunity to advance in the regions of Krasnohorivka in the west of Donetsk and Avdiivka in north of the Donetsk airport and even start a large-scale operation in this axis.

– The Russian army, advancing in the southern axis of Donetsk province, has entered Pavlivka town from the south, and Ukrainian forces have retreated to the north of this town. In addition, Russian forces in this axis have also attacked and are advancing in Ugledar, Vodyane and Novomykhailivka regions. The conflict for control of these areas continues. – On October 31, in the continuation of the clashes on the northern front of the city of Donetsk, the Russian army managed to take control of areas around Vodyane and Optyne. Some Russian sources have announced the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Optyne region, but Russian forces have not yet entered this region and this news cannot be confirmed at the moment.
The attacks of the Russian army in the northern axis of the city of Donetsk started on October 26 and are still ongoing. The continuation of Russian attacks indicates their serious decision to control over the areas around Donetsk, but this issue requires more air and artillery support. As we mentioned in the past, the Russian army’s control over these areas can provide an opportunity to advance on the western and northern fronts of Donetsk city. (View on the online map)

5- Poltava:
– Russian Army attacked positions of Ukrainian forces in Poltava province with several Shahed-136 suicide drones. The video is about the moment this drone hit a target in Poltava.

6- Crimean Peninsula:
Ukrainian Army attacked the port of Sevastopol in Crimea with 9 drones and 7 suicide boats.
The Russia Ministry of Defense has claimed that this attack was completely neutralized by its military planes and ships. According to this statements, the attack on Sevastopol was carried out by British advisers. After the attack, Russia suspended its cooperations regarding the grain agreement with Turkey and Ukraine.

7- Zaporizhzhia:
On October 25, local sources reported the explosion of a bomb near the television building of Melitopol city. As a result of this explosion, five people were injured.

8- Kiyv:
– On October 26, the Foreign Ministry of Iran and Russia, in a joint letter to the Security Council, denied the issue of the export of Iranian drones to Russia for use in the Ukraine war and called it illegal to raise the issue in the Security Council.
– Dmitry Kolba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine: “We will cut off our diplomatic relations with Iran because of its support for Russia. They made a big mistake by cooperating militarily with Russia in the war. We have evidence that shows that the Russian drones are made by Iran. We also have information that confirms that Iran has delivered missiles to Russia. We want to make sure that Iran does not give Russia drones.”
In this regard, the Ukrainian Football Federation, through an official request, has asked FIFA to exclude Iran from the Qatar World Cup due to Iran’s possible involvement in the war in Ukraine and possible violation of human rights!

9- On October 31, the Russian army with at least 8 Kh-101 cruise missiles attacked the positions of the Ukrainian forces in Kyiv, Odessa, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia and Dnipropetrovsk. The videos are related to fires caused by Russian missiles at the hydroelectric power plant in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporozhye provinces.
