Commander Of IRGC Qods Force Visits Syria
ISWNews Analysis Group – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force Commander Esmail Qaani traveled to Syria with the aim of inspecting the process of relief operation, which is being provided to quake-hit people.
Brigadier General Qaani arrived in the Arab country on March 17 and started visiting some cities in Aleppo and Latakia to supervise the way the Iranian relief forces are serving the Syrian earthquake-stricken people.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has dispatched 447 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria in 16 phases. The aids shipments were sent to Syrian airports in Aleppo, Damascus and Latakia.
It is worth mentioning that this the second trip by the commander of the IRGC’s Qods Force to Syria after the recent devastating earthquake in the Arab country. He visited Syria just a few days after the quake.
The destructive earthquake in Syria, which happened on February 6, more than 1400 Syrians lost their lives and at least 2349 citizens were injured.
On 6 February, a Magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit southern and central Turkey as well as northern and western Syria, which left more than 50,000 dead in both countries.
