Over 250 Killed, Injured In Terrorist Attack In Bajaur
As a result of a terrorist attack at a public rally of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, more than 250 civilians were killed and wounded.
ISWNews Analysis Group: Following a terrorist attack at a public rally of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan party, which is led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in Bajaur District of Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, 40 people, including Maulana Ziaullah Jan Haqqani who is one of the senior leaders of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan party, were killed and more than 200 other civilians were injured.
Senior Pakistani officials and figures have condemned the terrorist attack.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban caretaker government in Afghanistan, also strongly condemned the terrorist attack at the rally of supporters of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan party in a statement and described the act as a crime against humanity.
Despite media speculation against Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan and even the ISIS terrorist group, none of these groups has yet claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.
Moreover, some local and anti-government sources in Pakistan believe that such attacks have been orchestrated by the Pakistani army’s intelligence agency dubbed the Directorate-General for Military Intelligence of Pakistan with the aim of creating tension and separation among religious sects in the country as well as diverting the conflicts to Afghanistan.
