Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban caretaker government in Afghanistan, also strongly condemned the terrorist attack at the rally of supporters of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan party in a statement and described the act as a crime against humanity.

Despite media speculation against Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan and even the ISIS terrorist group, none of these groups has yet claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.

Moreover, some local and anti-government sources in Pakistan believe that such attacks have been orchestrated by the Pakistani army’s intelligence agency dubbed the Directorate-General for Military Intelligence of Pakistan with the aim of creating tension and separation among religious sects in the country as well as diverting the conflicts to Afghanistan.
