US Army: Ansar Allah Attacks Commercial Ship

The US Army’s terrorist command in West Asia (CENTCOM) claimed in a new statement that Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement launched a missile attack on a commercial ship and that the USS Gravely destroyer also confronted a second attack by the Ansar Allah fighters.

CENTCOM also claimed in this statement that the USS Gravely (n Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy) confronted the Ansar Allah attack on commercial ships on December 30 and shot down two anti-ship ballistic missiles.

According to this report, at 8:30 (Sana’a time) the container ship Maersk Hangzhou was hit by a missile while crossing the south of the Red Sea. The container ship belongs to Denmark and is operating under the flag of Singapore. This missile attack did not cause any casualties.

The is Maersk Hangzhou vessel requested emergency assistance from the US-led coalition after being hit by a missile and the USS Gravely and the USS Lebanon responded to this request. At the time of accompanying this ship, the USS Gravely shot down two anti-ship ballistic missiles that had been fired from the western regions of Yemen towards the two vessels.

According to the US military allegations, this is the 23rd strike by the Yemeni armed forces on foreign ships since October 19.

CENTCOM also recently claimed that the USS Mason destroyer shot down a drone and an anti-ship ballistic missile fired by Ansar Allah movement in the south of the Red Sea between 5:45 and 6:10 pm (Sana’a time) on December 28. The claims regarding these two attacks were merely made by the US army and the Yemeni armed forces have not yet reacted to confirm or deny these attacks.
