Does Egypt Accept To Welcome Palestinian Refugees? Will Plan To Relocate Gaza Residents Be Implemented?
Despite the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s statement that his government strongly opposes relocating Palestinians to Egypt, satellite images show that Egypt is preparing to settle Palestinian refugees in the Sinai Peninsula.
Satellite images indicate that Egypt is preparing to temporarily accommodate Palestinians in the Sinai Peninsula. It is said that many Palestinians will be evacuated from Gaza and transferred to this area simultaneously with the start of the Israeli army’s ground operation in Rafah city.
This action by Egypt comes as Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of Egypt, emphasized a few months ago in a joint press conference with Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor: What is happening in Gaza now is an attempt to forcibly relocate civilians to Egypt. We strongly oppose relocating Palestinians to Egypt.
After the publication of such news stories, the government in Cairo once again denied the accuracy of this issue. In this regard, the Minister of War of the Israeli regime Yoav Gallant also stated that Israel does not intend to send Palestinians to Egypt as part of the evacuation process in the city of Rafah. However, the reasons for Egypt’s movements and increased actions in the Sinai desert remain unclear and suspicious.
It is worth mentioning that the Rafah city is witnessing a gathering of more than 1.5 million Palestinian refugees. These refugees have been transferred from Khan Younis to Rafah; moreover, in recent weeks, there have been many conflicting reports about the Israeli regime’s plot to forcibly relocate them outside Palestinian territories (to Egypt).
