Yemen Army Missiles Set Fire US Ship ‘True Confidence’
The Yemeni Armed Forces targeted and hit the US ship “True Confidence” in the Gulf of Aden with several missiles.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, announced in a statement on Wednesday that the Yemeni navy attacked the US ship True Confidence in the Gulf of Aden with a number of missiles, and the strike caused a fire on board the US ship. This operation was carried out after the ship’s crew ignored warning messages from the Yemeni naval forces.
According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) and Western media reports, this attack took place this morning or afternoon on March 6, about 54 nautical miles southeast of Aden.
The missile hit caused serious damage to the ship, and a rescue boat was sent to assist and evacuate the injured crew members. The ship had 23 crew members and security forces, three of whom are reportedly missing and four others suffered severe burns after the Yemeni army missile hit.
True Confidence is a bulk carrier ship that has been operating under the Barbados flag since 2011. The ship was sailing from Singapore to the port of Jeddah in western Saudi Arabia when it was hit by a missile from the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Gulf of Aden.
