Yemeni Army Attacks 3 Ships In Arabian, Red Seas, Mediterranean
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, issued a statement in a rally in Al-Sabeen Square in the city of Sana’a regarding the recent attacks of the Yemeni army on US and Israeli ships as well as their affiliated vessels.
According to this statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out three specific operations on three ships, the details of which are as follows:
– In the first operation, the Yemeni army targeted the Israeli ship MSC ALEXANDRA in the Arabian Sea with a number of ballistic missiles.
– The second operation was carried out as part of the fourth phase of escalating tensions, in which naval, drone, and missile forces targeted the ship YANNIS of the Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Ltd. while passing through the Red Sea. The process of targeting this ship took place after three vessels belonging to the same company were occupied in Palestinian ports on the fourth and fifth of May.
– In the third operation, the Yemeni army also targeted the Israeli ship ESSEX with a number of missiles in the Mediterranean Sea while it was trying to violate Yemen’s decision to ban sailing towards occupied ports in Palestine.
The ship MSC ALEXANDRA is a container ship flying the flag of Panama that has been active since 2010. The ship YANNIS is also a cargo ship that has been operating with the flag of Malta since 2009. The ship ESSEX is a chemical tanker flying the flag of Liberia that has been operating since 2009.
Brigadier General Saree emphasized elsewhere in this statement that the Yemeni Armed Forces warn all companies dealing with the Israeli regime that their ships will be targeted in the declared operational area regardless of their destination. The Yemeni armed forces will continue with full determination and faith to carry out the fourth phase of escalating tensions to pave the way for the victory of the oppressed nation of Palestine until the end of the aggressions and the lifting of the siege on the Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip.
According to IWN statistics, the Yemeni army’s attacks on the mentioned ships are the 82nd, 83rd, and 84th official strikes by Yemeni forces against illegal ships (Israel, US, UK, and their affiliated vessels) in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea and also the Indian Ocean.
