UAE And Israel To Establish Milirary Base In Northern Somalia
According to Haaretz, a Hebrew newspaper, the UAE is collaborating with Israel to set up a military base in the Somaliland region.
Reports indicate that the United Arab Emirates has successfully negotiated and reached an agreement with Somaliland authorities to build a port and an airport in the coastal city of Berbera. Additionally, they plan to establish a military base in the region. The UAE is set to invest $440 million in this project, and the Berbera military base will be under their control.
Given Yemen’s support for Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime, it is likely that the Berbera base will be used for military operations against Yemen. The base’s location could facilitate airstrikes against Yemen by Israel.
The UAE-Israel military cooperation against Yemen is expanding, as they have previously established several military and intelligence bases in the Socotra archipelago before Somaliland.
