A 24-year-old Palestinian, Mahmoud Hassan Abdulrahman Akkad, carried out a car-ramming operation on September 28 at the Jit junction between Qalqilya and Nablus in the northern West Bank, targeting an Israeli soldier.

The attack resulted in the death of a paratrooper from the Israeli Army’s 890th Battalion. Akkad was shot and killed by Israeli security forces at the scene.

Hamas issued a statement praising the operation as a heroic act of resistance, describing it as a response to ongoing genocide in Gaza and Israeli crimes including killings, arrests, settlement expansion, and Judaization efforts in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

According to Israeli sources, this incident brings the total number of military personnel killed since the start of the conflict to 915.
