ISWNews Analysis Group: Hussein Karish, a high-ranking commander of the al-Qaeda terrorist group in Yemen was killed during the recent clashes between the Saudi-led forces and Ansar Allah in the southern province of Marib.
1- Marib:
Local sources reported that Hussein Karish, a high-ranking commander of the al-Qaeda terrorist group in Yemen was killed by Ansar Allah in Jabal Murad dsitrict, south of Marib.
Hussein Karish was an al-Qaeda commander in Marib who has close ties to Qassim al-Rimi, the al-Qaeda commander in Yemen.
The Saudi coalition centered on the Hadi forces, the Murad tribes and the al-Qaeda terrorist group, recently launched a heavy attack on Rahbah and Jabal Murad fronts, which were defeated by Ansar Allah.
2- Saudi coalition airstrikes:
In the past 24 hours, Saudi coalition warplanes bombed Sarwah area in Marib province 5 times, Khab al-Shaaf in al-Jawf province 2 times, al-Ajasher desert and in the western part of Saadah 2times, and al-Mazraq in al-Hajjah province 1 times.
3- Al-Hudaydah:
– Clashes between Ansar Allah and Saudi-led forces were reported in al-Durayhimi, al-Tuhaita and al-Faza areas along the Red Sea coast.
– Saudi-led forces violated the ceasefire 157 times in the past 24 hours.
– Saudi coalition drones bombed al-Tuhaita 5 times.
4- The Southern Transitional Council called Mansour Hadi’s recent appointments to parliament a dangerous decision and a clear violation of the agreement.
5- Abyan:
STC forces stole trucks full of relief belonging to King Salman’s center and shot at their drivers in the outskirts of al-Mahfad.
6- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on the United States to refrain from designating Ansar Allah as a terrorist group for humanitarian reasons.
7- More than 37,000 refugees arrived in Yemen during 2020, according to the International Organization for Migration.
