Breaking: Ansar Allah confiscated a UAE ship in the Red Sea

According to Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki, a spokesman for the Saudi coalition, the cargo ship was named “Rwabee” and was carrying medical and health equipment from the island of Socotra to the port of Jizan under the UAE flag.

This morning, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations issued a statement announcing the attack on a ship off the coast of al-Hudaydah port.

Few hours after the incident, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya al-Sari’, also confirmed the seizure of the Emirati ship in a statement, adding that more details would be provided in the coming hours.

Ansar Allah’s move comes as more than 13 ships carrying fuel, medical equipment, etc. to Yemen, which also have a UN permit, have been seized by the Saudi coalition so far.

This is the first operation by the Ansar Allah Navy to seize a military cargo ship in the Red Sea. The ship was carrying military vehicles, armor and other equipment which will be used in the war against Yemen. Ansar Allah’s images and videos of the ship refute false claims by Saudi Arabia and the UAE about the ship being commercial and carrying medical equipment.

According to a statement by the Yemeni Armed Forces, the Emirati ship has been under surveillance by Yemeni intelligence for weeks and has been conducting hostile activities in Yemeni territorial waters.
