Azerbaijani media: Russian peacekeepers are occupiers
ISWNews Analysis Group: Following the Russian Ministry of Defense report confirming the violation of the ceasefire by the Republic of Azerbaijan on the lines of contact with the Armenian forces, Azeri media called the Russian peacekeepers “occupiers”.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, based on the reports sent by peacekeepers based in Nagorno-Karabakh, announced that the forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire by shooting at a tractor belonging to Armenian farmers at the beginning of this week.
However, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has a different story and says that the Armenian forces fired at them with light weapons in this area and from near the base of the Russian forces.
The government TV channel “Baku TV” responded to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and for the first time called the peacekeepers of this country as occupiers.
Baku TV added in its report:
“Russian peacemakers are starting to build Armenian churches and create centers, schools and Russian symbols. They are indifferent to the destructive activities of armed Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, and like the case of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in eastern Ukraine, they strengthen the separatists to implement a new form of fragmentation policy.”
