ISWNews Analysis Group – Nine Palestinians were martyred and more than 20 others were injured following the Israeli military attack on the Jenin camp in the West Bank.
On the 6th of January, the special forces of the Zionist regime entered the Jenin camp in the north of the West Bank with a dairy truck, and after the Zionist forces were identified by the Palestinian resistance forces, a fierce conflict began at the area.
After the clashes sparked, the Israeli military sent reinforcements to this camp. With the arrival of the auxiliary forces, the Israeli army cut off the power to the Jenin camp and the clashes intensified with the deployment of snipers on the roofs of some houses in this area. In response to this action, the Palestinian resistance forces shelled the location of several Israeli snipers. Also, an Israeli army quadcopter was shot down by Palestinian resistance forces over the Jenin camp.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 9 Palestinians were killed and more than 20 others were seriously injured during the conflict. Due to the intensity of the clashes, there is a possibility of an increase in the number of martyrs and injured.
It is noteworthy that following the Israeli regime attack on Jenin camp, the Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza held an emergency meeting. In this regard, the Hebrew media announced the Israeli army, fearing the possible response by the Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza, is on full alert and has activated the Iron Dome systems on the southern regions.
Hours after the attack, the Israeli army also issued a statement and announced that as a result of the joint operation by the special police unit, Shin Bet and the Israeli army, three commanders of the military branch of the Islamic Jihad movement were killed in the heart of the Jenin camp.
