Unrest In Pakistan; Imran Khan Detention Extended (Video)
ISWNews Analysis Group – The Pakistani court extended Imran Khan’s detention for another eight days on charges of corruption cases.
After the Imran Khan arrest, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, on charges of numerous cases of corruption including the illegal acquisition of land, the establishment of Al-Qadir Trust and the illegal profit of 190 million pounds from it, his supporters, at the invitation of members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) have gathered in most cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta, etc. Their protests were met by security forces and Imran Khan’s supporters set fire to a number of government buildings and vehicles.

In the latest news about his condition, the police said that Imran Khan will not be presented to the court and the court session was held in one of the Pakistani police complexes in Islamabad city. In this session, the prosecutor of the case requested to arrest Imran Khan for 14 days; But Imran Khan’s defense lawyers opposed this request. The court has finally extended the detention period of Imran Khan for eight days.
As a result of the street clashes in Pakistan, several people have been killed and thousands of people, including 130 security forces, have been injured. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf media claimed that two political activists of this party were killed by security forces and several others were wounded in Quetta city. Also, 25 government vehicles and 14 government buildings were set on fire in Punjab alone.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah also declared the arrest of Imran Khan as a legal matter and warned the leaders of the PTI not to use this issue to violate the law and incite people’s feelings.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi also announced in a news conference in Karachi that this party has no enmity with the army and other security institutions and wants to ensure the security of its party members.

Currently, street clashes and protests are going on in different cities of Pakistan, and the security forces are trying to calm the situation by banning protests and any political gatherings.
Along with the political unrest in Pakistan, the value of the country’s currency, the rupee, has decreased. With the continuation of this situation, it is likely that the economic situation of Pakistanis will worsen.
Imran Khan had previously said that the political conspiracy in this country is staged by the US and he will never remain silent against the interference of foreigners and the puppet government. He claims that by removing him from the post of prime minister, independence and democracy in Pakistan have been attacked and people should stand up to protect the country.
