Israeli Air Strike On Outskirts Of Homs In Syria

ISWNews Analysis Group – According to Syrian military sources, the Zionist enemy fired several missiles from the northeast direction of Lebanese capital city Beirut towards targets on the outskirts of the city of Homs around 00:20 a.m. (local time) on Sunday, and the Syrian air defense shot down most of the missiles.

The military sources also confirmed that air strike resulted in material damage.

No further details have been released so far, but it is said that one of the Syrian army’s positions in the village of Al-Najma, located in north of the city of Homs, was targeted by the Israeli fighter jets.

During the air raid, the Syrian army’s air defense systems fired an anti-aircraft missile at the Israeli fighter jets, which fell in the Rahat area in the occupied territories of Palestine.

The Israeli army also confirmed in a statement that a Syrian air defense missile had entered the occupied Palestinian airspace

A Syrian anti-aircraft missile was fired towards occupied territories and apparently exploded in the sky, the statement mentioned.

According to the statement, the Israelis have initiated investigations on the Syrian missile.

Some Hebrew-language media outlets reported that a missile was able to travel more than 400 kilometers from the Homs region of Syria (the region where Israeli fighter jets attacked) to Rahat district and it fell in the occupied lands after passing through the Israeli regime’s air defense system.

On the other hand, some Israeli sources claimed that the Patriot air defense system located in the north of occupied Palestine intercepted a Syrian anti-aircraft missile that was fired at the Israeli regime fighter jet and the remains of the missile fell in Rahat area.

It is worth mentioning that on June 14, the Zionist regime’s fighter jets attacked targets in the suburbs of Damascus by firing several missiles from the occupied Golan. This attack caused material damage.
