US Fighter Jets Pound Resistance Positions in Eastern Syria (Video)
In response to attacks by resistance groups against US military positions, US Army fighter jets pounded military targets in Deir ez-Zor Governorate of Syria.
On November 8, the United States’ fighter jets targeted positions belonging to the resistance fighters in Deir ez-Zor Governorate in eastern Syria.
A Pentagon official has told Al Jazeera TV news network that this air strike took place after some resistance groups attacked an American military base in the Al-Shaddadi town in southern al-Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria.
Following this attack, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also confirmed the US airstrike on resistance axis positions in eastern Syria and said that this attack was carried out by two F-15 fighter jets.
This air strike was conducted in response to a series of attacks targeting American forces in Iraq and Syria, Austin said, adding that we are ready to take further action to defend our forces and bases, but we also seek to reduce tensions.
More details about this incident have not been released, but local sources have claimed that US fighter jets targeted objectives in the Harabesh Quarter (near Deir ez-Zor airport), resulting in several deaths and injuries.
It is worth mentioning that on April 27, US F-16 fighter jets, under the orders of US President Joe Biden, carried out attacks against two bases belonging to resistance groups in Syria.
