The Norwegian tanker, Strinda, was attacked precisely by a missile after disobeying the Yemeni Navy’s order to change course towards the western shores of Yemen.

According to Western media reports, a ship was attacked by a Yemeni cruise missile and caught fire in the Red Sea.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said:

In a military operation, the Yemeni Navy targeted the Norwegian ship Strinda, which was carrying a cargo of oil towards Israel, with an appropriate naval missile.

The Yemeni brigadier general added that the Yemeni Armed Forces have succeeded in preventing several ships from passing over the past two days.

These ships responded to warnings from the Yemeni Navy and were attacked when the crew of the Norwegian ship ignored the warnings.

The Yemeni Armed Forces will not back down from targeting ships mentioned in previous statements. We confirm that we will continue to prevent ships from any country traveling through the Red Sea and Arab waters towards Israeli ports until our brothers’ necessary food and medicine are allowed into Gaza.

Strinda is a Norwegian oil tanker that has been active since 2006 and carries oil and chemicals.

After announcing war against Israel, Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, leader of the Ansar Allah movement, the Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out at least 11 missile and drone operations against Israeli positions in occupied southern Palestine.

The Israeli ship Galaxy Leader was also seized in the waters of the Red Sea, and about seven other ships belonging to Israeli companies or heading towards Israeli ports were attacked by Yemenis. Strinda is the seventh ship that has been carrying a cargo of oil towards the Suez Canal and an unknown port.
