Yemen Army Conducts Drone Attack Against Israel-Bound Ship In Red Sea
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, announced in a statement the details of the strike, when a suicide drone directly attacked an Israel-bound ship in the Red Sea.
In a Thursday statement, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, referred to the massacre and blockade of the people of the Gaza Strip and the repeated requests of the Yemeni people to prevent this unequal war.
The spokesman said that with the help of Almighty God, the Yemeni Navy and Coastal Defence Forces has attacked and directly hit a container ship named Maersk Gibraltar, which was heading towards the Israeli occupied ports, in a military operation using a suicide drone.
According to this statement, the operation was carried out after the crew of the ship refrained from responding to the calls of the Yemeni Navy.
Brigadier General Saree added that the Yemeni armed forces have prevented the passage of several ships heading towards the Israeli occupied territories over the past 48 hours.
The Yemeni armed forces emphasized in their statement that they will continue to prevent the passage of ships that are heading towards Israeli ports through the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea until the necessary food and medicine for the people of Palestine in the Gaza Strip are not allowed in.
The Maersk Gibraltar is a container ship that has been operating under the Hong Kong flag since 2016. This is the eighth Israeli ship or Israel-bound vessel that has been attacked by the Yemeni army during the Palestine-Israel war, which kicked off on October 7.
