Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed the news about the heavy missile attack on a British-linked ship ‘Rubymar’ and the stoppage of this ship in the Gulf of Aden.

Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) also reported a missile attack 35 kilometers south of the port of Al-Mokha (Mocha) near the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

According to the report, the Rubymar ship was passing from the port of Khor Fakkan city in the east of the UAE to a so-called destination in Bulgaria through the Red Sea when it was hit in a heavy ballistic missile attack by the Yemeni army. Following the operation, the ship suffered a serious fire and the crew, unable to extinguish it, evacuated the ship.

According to the statement of Brigadier General Yahya Saari, the British ship stopped completely after being hit and was in danger of sinking as a result of major damage. He also emphasized that during the operation, we made sure that the ship’s crew got out of this ship safely.

Rubymar is a bulk carrier that has been operating under the flag of Belize, a small country in Central America since 1997.

It appears that in line with the ongoing military operations of the Israeli regime’s army in the Gaza Strip and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s determination to attack Rafah city, the military equation in Yemen is also changing.

It is worth mentioning that the Yemeni armed forces had previously declared the passage of Israeli, American, British ships, as well as vessels affiliated with them through the Red Sea route forbidden until a complete cessation of war in Gaza.
