On the third day of Israeli ground operation in Syria, Israeli forces captured Jabatha al-Khashab and al-Hurriya in Quneitra province, along with the villages of Arna, Baqasem, al-Rima, al-Haina, Qala Jandal, and al-Husayniyyah in Damascus province. These areas lie on the Syrian-Lebanese border strip and are approximately 25 km from the Syrian capital, Damascus.

These advances suggest Israel’s intention to establish a buffer zone on the Syrian-Lebanese border, aiming to cut off Syria’s supply route to Lebanon and facilitate a ground attack on eastern Lebanon.

Currently, the Israeli army has the areas of Qatna and Yafour ahead of them to continue their advance, and then the road leading to the Al-Masna’ border crossing.

The Qatna area, strategically located on the hills overlooking Lebanon, also connects to Yafour and the border road, making it the likely next target for Israel.

In the southern part of Daraa province, Israeli forces have entered the UNDOF buffer zone near Ma’araba.

Israeli soldiers have warned residents of border villages to avoid approaching the border areas and agricultural lands. In this regard, farmers from Ma’araba have been shelled by Israeli forces while moving towards their agricultural lands.
