Latest Military Map Of Syria, 8 December 2024 (Map)
With the fall of Homs and subsequently Damascus on December 8, the Syrian government were overthrown by Tahrir al-Sham and other terrorist groups.
Today, forces affiliated with Tahrir al-Sham entered the coastal cities of Latakia, Jablah, Banias, and Tartus, and practically, the coastal areas, which were previously regarded as government strongholds, have also fallen. The Russian military base in Hmeimim remains under Russian control. It seems unlikely that Tahrir al-Sham will attack this base.
In southern Syria, the Israeli army has taken advantage of the chaos and entered Syrian territory, occupying areas such as Quneitra, the vicinity of Khan Arnabeh, and the strategic heights of Mount Hermon. Israel’s advance into Syrian territory is likely to continue.
In eastern Syria, the areas of Deir Ezzor, Mayadeen, and Abu Kamal are still controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. The United States has reportedly warned militants to avoid these areas.
In northern Syria, Turkish-backed militants persist in their assaults on Manbij. According to recent reports, the Al-Arima district has fallen, and clashes are now taking place in Manbij and its surrounding areas. Turkish drones are actively supporting the militants’ operations in the Manbij region.
