Latest Updates on Afghanistan, 31 October 2019

1. Herat:
Due to a terrorist attack explosion in Dab Khosh road, one civilian was martyred and four others injured.

2. Baghlan:
30 villages in Pol Khomri-Samangan road were reclaimed form Taliban.

3. Jozjan:
– Taliban attacked a security forces watch post in Balahisar area, Aqche town and martyred 25 security forces. The area is claimed by Taliban.
– Due to Taliban’s recent attacks to Aqche , Gen. Dostam visited the town.

4. Sare pol:
Engagement between Taliban and security forces in Suzme Qala town resulted in martyrdom of 1 security force and injury of four. Also three Taliban militants were killed and 5 injured.

5. Qunduz:
Taliban attack to security forces watch post in Khan Abad town resulted in martyrdom of 5 and capture of 7.

6. Zalmay Khalilzad trip to Kabul again.
– Media reported he is negotiating with Taliban to rescue two American professors who were captured by Haqqani network, ally of Taliban.
– Taliban requests to have 82 of its militants released for these two professors.

7. Latest Updates on the presidential election:
– It is said 47 thousands votes were abolished due to being repetitious.
– Abdullah Abdullah meeting with US ambassador in Afghanistan.
