Following their withdrawal from the Al-Shaddadi base in southern Hasakah province, U.S. forces set fire to their facilities. This action comes amid new U.S. military movements in northeastern Syria and the relocation of equipment from various bases, including Kharab al-Jir, toward the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The transfer of part of the military equipment from Al-Shaddadi base, which had begun earlier, is expected to continue until February 10. These movements, along with the burning of the bases, are part of Washington’s strategy to reduce its presence in the region and prevent these facilities from being reused.
