Syria: Turkish army evacuates Maar Hattat military post
ISWNews Analysis Group: On November 7, Turkish troops stationed at the Maar Hattat military post south of Ma’rat al-Numan began evacuating the post and handing it over to the Syrian army.
Last week, on November 4, Turkey started to evacuate the Sher Mughar observation post in the south of al-Ghab Plain and the post was handed over to the Syrian army.
Also, the Morek observation post, the largest Turkish military observation post in the northern province of Hama, was completely evacuated and handed over to the Syrian army in the last two weeks.
According to the available information, the evacuation of those Turkish military and observation posts that are currently under siege by the Syrian army in the areas controlled by the Syrian government will continue gradually.
After evacuating Morek and Sher Mughar observation posts, there are still six observation posts and three to four military posts of Turkish army in Syrian government controlled lands. The observation posts that are currently under siege by the Syrian army are Surman observation post, Tal Al-Tawqan observation post, Al-Eis observation post, Al-Rashedin observation post, Andan observation post and Jabal Sheikh Aqil observation post. Military posts are also located around Saraqeb and in Al-Zarba.
