Sudan and Ethiopia border conflict

ISWNews Analysis Group: Sudanese army captured some area at the border with Ethiopia in an operation commanded by Abdul Fattah al-Burhan.

According to Sudanese sources, Sudanese army after fighting with Ethiopian army in Al Qadarif state, took control of Khor Shad and Qala Lubaan areas 7 km from Jabal Abu Tayyur area. Four Sudanese soldiers killed in action.

These areas were controlled by Ethiopia proxy militants for 26 years. After Sudan’s operation to reclaim the area, a joint committee to decide the border between two countries had a session in Khartoum, capital of Sudan. Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed called Ethiopia and Sudan relationship historical and demanded a peaceful solution for the issue.
