What is Raba’ Allah group?
Raba’ Allah is a group which introduced themselves as a youth popular Hussaini movement and announced their redlines as Marja and Hashad Sha’abi.
Raba’ Allah is a local Iraqi idiom means “God’s fellows” which was created due to the recent political unrests in Iraq. The movement emphasizes that it is an independent and no tie to Hashad Sha’abi or political groups and was established due to USA and Westernized trend oppression and damages in Iraq. Raba’ Allah recently changed their name to al-Lijan al-Shaabiyah(popular committees).
The movement has organized the protest against KDP office and offices of Dijlah and MBC networks due to Hoshyar Zebari, former official and KDP party, insult to Hashad Sha’abi on October 17, 2020, and closing a night club in Karadah area, Baghdad, on November 28, 2020, etc.
Raba’ Allah is accused of organizing protests in Sulaymaniyah by some of Kurdistan officials and was claimed to be a branch of Kataib Hizbollah by Westernized media, which was rejected by Kataib.
