ISWNews Analysis Group: Late on August 19, Israeli warplanes attacked several targets on the outskirts of Damascus and Homs cities.
The Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement: “At around 23:03 (local time) tonight, the Israeli enemy launched a missile attack from the southeast of Beirut (in Lebanon), targeting some areas on the outskirts of Damascus and the outskirts of Homs. The results of these attacks are being investigated.”
According to published footages, at least two attacks were carried out in the Qalamoun area north of Damascus.
During the Israeli missile strikes on Syria, the country’s air defenses were activated to counter the Israeli regime’s attacks, but the results are still unknown. The attack also disrupted civilian flights over Lebanon and Syria.
According to the Islamic World Development, the attack took place after a two-hour flight of a Gulfstream 550 Nachshon Shavit 679 aircraft over the border areas near Syria and Lebanon yesterday.
On August 17, Israeli warplanes also fired two missiles at a Syrian military post in the Qars al-Nafal area on the outskirts of Hader, in northern al-Quneitra province.
