Sunni scholars, the new target of terrorist attacks in Afghanistan
ISWNews Analysis Group: A terrorist blast in Kabul city targeted the vehicle of Mawlawi Abdul Salam Abed, a prominent religious scholar in Afghanistan.
The terrorist attack took place at 14:30 on December 17th, in the PD-4 of Kabul city with a magnetic bomb on the vehicle of Mawlawi Abdul Salam Abed, the preacher of the Abdul Rahman Grand Mosque and a member of the executive council of the Afghanistan Salvation Movement.
It is worth mentioning that Mawlawi Abdul Salam Abed was also survived an assassination attempt by unknown individuals on 2018. He is one of the moderate and unity-seeking Sunni scholars in Afghanistan.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, depending on the type of attack, it is possible that the assassination was carried out by the ISIS terrorist group.
