Israeli Aggression Targets Residential Building In Damascus; Five Killed
ISWNews Analysis Group – Five people were killed and 15 others were wounded, as a result of an Israeli regime air attack with several missiles targeting points in and around Damascus, including residential neighbourhoods.
A Syrian military source stated that, “at 00:22 am today, the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with several missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the city of Damascus and its surroundings, including residential neighborhoods inhabited by civilians. Our air defenses intercepted the aggression’s missiles and shot down most of them.”
The source added, “The aggression led to death of five people, including a military serviceman, and the wounding of 15 civilians. Among them are critical cases, the destruction of a number of civilian houses, and material damage to a number of neighborhoods in Damascus.”
The Israeli missile attack caused a state of panic and fear among the residents of the building and neighboring buildings. The attack reportedly was carried out by an Israeli guided missile with great destructive capacity, and caused a partial collapse of 4 floors of the targeted building.
The Director General of Al-Mouwasat Hospital, Dr. Essam Al-Amin, said that several people from the Kafar Sousah neighborhood were taken to the hospital, and they were injured in the head and limbs, and the necessary treatments are being provided to them.
According to ISWNEWS sources, last night, the Israeli airstrikes targeted five sites in Damascus and its countryside; and most likely, during the Syrian air defense response to the aggression’s missiles, one of the Israeli missiles deviated and fell in the Kafr Sousah area.
It is noteworthy that this attack is the second during the current year. On January 2, two soldiers were killed and two others were injured as a result of an Israeli air attack on Damascus International Airport and its surroundings.

This Israeli aggression is the first aggression of this kind after the devastating earthquake a few days ago in this country. This cowardly attack takes place while the Syrian are facing difficult humanitarian conditions following the consequences of the devastating earthquake.
Hours after this attack, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, strongly condemned the Zionist regime attack on Damascus and demanded an immediate, serious and effective response from the international community and the Security Council to these aggressions.
