Latest Military Developments Of Gaza And The Occupied Territories, 19 October 2023 (Map)

On the 13th day of the fighting, there was no special and significant ground conflict around the Gaza Strip. The movements of the Israeli army’s ground forces around the Gaza Strip are currently still defensive. Also, rocket attacks on Israeli settlements around the Gaza Strip and further areas continue.

On the northern front, missile and artillery clashes continue between Hezbollah and the Israeli regime. On this day, Hezbollah attacked a large number of security and communication equipment of the Israeli army in areas such as Ras al-Naqura, Rahab, Jal al-Alam and Hanita, using light artillery fire and anti-armor guided missiles. Also, three ATGM missiles were fired towards the Israeli outpost in Zar’it. The interesting point of today’s attacks was the simultaneous and coordination of Hezbollah’s attacks with the rocket attacks of al-Qassam and al-Quds Brigades, which were carried out in several stages. At the same time as Hezbollah’s attacks, the Palestinian forces fired more than 36 rockets towards the north of occupied Palestine.

Another important event today was the escalation of tensions and armed conflicts in the West Bank. The Zionist army and security forces carried out a massive raid on the Nur Shams camp in the Tulkarm area. The raid was launched from the early hours of morning with the aim of hitting Saraya al-Quds forces in the camp. In these clashes, an Israeli military vehicle was targeted by a roadside bomb. The intensity of clashes was so high that the Israeli regime in an unprecedented move, targeted positions of the resistance forces in this camp by using a suicide drone. 12 Palestinians were martyred and an unknown number of Israeli forces were also killed and wounded. Israel only admitted the death of one of its border guard officers, Maxim Rezinkov, in these battles.

Regarding the casualties of the sides in the battles of the last two weeks, the Ministry of Health of Palestine announced the number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip to be more than 3,500 and the number of wounded to be more than 12,000. Also, 69 people have been martyred in the West Bank and more than 1,300 people have been injured. On the Israeli side, the casualty figures have not changed significantly, and Israel refuses to provide accurate statistics.
