Another Intelligence Failure for Israel: Hamas’ Beit Hanoun Battalion Commander Found Alive!

On May 24, 2024, the Israeli army claimed that “Hussein Fayyad,” the Beit Hanoun Battalion Commander of the al-Qassam Brigades, had been killed in a tunnel in the Gaza Strip. However, after 8 months, Hussein Fayyad has reappeared, delivering a speech in front of the people of Gaza and the cameras.
In recent years, Israeli military and security institutions have frequently reported the deaths of various resistance commanders, only for those claims to be later disproven when these commanders appear on the frontlines or before the cameras.
The fact that the Israeli regime relied on this intelligence for about eight months and believed the Hamas Beit Hanoun Battalion Commander was deceased highlights a significant intelligence failure. It is likely that similar reports regarding other resistance commanders in Gaza may also be proven incorrect in the coming weeks.
