Latest Military Developments Of Gaza And Northern Palestine, 29 October 2023

On the 23rd day of the war in Palestine, clashes and battles continued around the Gaza Strip. On this day, most of the clashes were concentrated to the north of the Gaza Strip in the areas of Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun. From morning to noon today, the Israeli army was trying to penetrate into the Gaza Strip from the northwest side of Beit Lahia, which was met with resistance by Palestinian fighters. According to the available information, al-Qassam forces penetrated behind the Beit Lahia lines through underground tunnels and engaged with Israeli forces. The Palestinian forces used a Zourai suicide drone in these clashes.

Also, clashes took place in north of Beit Hanoun around the Erez crossing. According to the available information, al-Qassam forces penetrated behind the Israeli army lines in Erez base through underground tunnels and clashed with the Israeli soldiers. The battles in this axis also ended without any changes in the military map of the area.

There is no information available about the number of casualties and possible damages of the parties in the two mentioned battles.

The Israeli army has published a video that shows that the military equipment of this regime has entered the Gaza Strip from the south side of Zikim and along the coastline several hundred meters, and they are building defense fortifications. The only verifiable advance of the Israeli regime into the Gaza Strip is a few hundred or a few tens of meters of ground entry along the coastline.

The Ministry of Health of Palestine announced that the number of martyrs in Gaza has increased to more than 8005 people and the number of injured has reached more than 19743 people. In the West Bank, at least 111 Palestinians were martyred and more than 1,950 others were injured.

Rocket attacks by resistance forces against Israeli army positions and Israeli settlements continue. Today, in response to the attacks of the Israeli regime on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian resistance groups targeted the settlements around the Gaza Strip and also distant areas such as Tel Aviv with their rocket attacks on several occasions.

In the northern front, the clashes continued in the form of artillery, missile and rocket attacks as in the past days. Hezbollah targeted the positions of the Israeli occupying forces with artillery on several occasions. The army of the Israeli regime also targeted the villages and border areas of southern Lebanon on several occasions using artillery and fighter jets.

Hezbollah issued a statement saying it had targeted an Israeli drone with a surface-to-air missile over the Khiam area in southern Lebanon. This drone crashed in the north of the Palestinian territories.

Also, in the last hours of Sunday, several rockets were fired from Syrian territory towards the occupied Golan Heights. According to the Israeli army, these rockets landed in open areas and did not cause any damage. Nevertheless, a picture of the Golan has been published, which shows that at least one of the rockets hit near one of the Zionist settlements.
