The Yemeni Air Force destroyed a US Army MQ-9 drone in the skies of Al Bayda Governorate, in center of Yemen.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced the details of the destruction of the ninth fleet of MQ-9 drones of the US Army in the Yemeni war front in a statement.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree said in the statement: “With the help of Almighty God, the Yemeni Air Force succeeded in shooting down a MQ-9 drone of the US Army during a hostile mission in the airspace of Al Bayda Governorate. This drone was targeted with a domestically made surface-to-air missile and, God willing, images of its destruction will be released soon.”

The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman went on to say that the drone was shot down just a few days after another UAV of the same type was shot down in the airspace of Ma’rib Governorate. The Yemeni Armed Forces, through these successful operations, managed to shoot down five MQ-9 drones in the ongoing battle of the promised victory and holy jihad.

The Yemeni Armed Forces reiterated in accordance with previous statements that they will continue to develop their defense capabilities to counter US-British attacks and will continue their military operations to support the oppressed people of Palestine until the siege on Gaza is lifted and the aggression against the residents of the Gaza Strip is stopped.

It is worth mentioning that this is the ninth fleet of MQ-9 drones of the US Army to be shot down in the Yemen war. Out of this number, five UAVs have been shot down after the start of the military operations of the Yemeni army in support of Palestine and the official invasion of the USA-British coalition on Yemeni soil.
