On June 23, the Yemeni Navy carried out two operations against this ship in the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea.

The first operation was carried out with several anti-ship ballistic missiles in the Arabian Sea and the second operation was carried out using a Tufan unmanned surface vehicle (USV) in the Red Sea.

TRANSWORLD NAVIGATOR is a bulk carrier sailing under the Liberian flag since 2010. This ship was traveling from Singapore to the Suez Canal when it was attacked by missiles and USVs in the waters of Yemen.

According to the Yemeni army, the company that owns this ship has repeatedly violated the ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine.

‘Tufan Al-Mudamir’ (destructive storm) is one of the Yemeni navy USVs, which has a warhead equivalent to 1,000 to 1,500 kg and its speed is equivalent to 45 nautical miles per hour.

Since last November, the Yemeni army attacked dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the U.S. and the UK in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in response to the Israeli war and siege on Gaza.

The attacks have sent insurance costs spiraling for vessels transiting the Red Sea and prompted many shipping firms to take the far longer passage around the southern tip of Africa instead.

Israel has been waging an atrocious onslaught against the Gaza Strip, targeting hospitals, residences, and houses of worship after Palestinian groups launched a surprise attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, on October 7. At least 37,834 Palestinians have been killed and more than 86 thousands wounded so far, most of them women and children.

The Yemeni army has pledged to continue missile and drone attacks on illegal ships that violate the ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine until Israeli and American crimes against the Palestinian people stop.
