Yemeni Armed Forces Release Images Of ‘Jaffa Suicide Drone’
Based on information released by the Yemeni army, the Jaffa suicide drone is versatile and carries a potent explosive warhead. It has been developed and deployed in Yemen, equipped with capabilities to evade radars and air defenses.
The drone was employed in the attack on the occupied city of Jaffa (Tel Aviv) on July 19, with the moment of its launch towards occupied Palestine captured in the above video footage.
Upon observing the images, it is apparent that the Jaffa drone is a suicide variant of the Samad-4 drone (or Sammad-4) , which was showcased at the Yemeni army’s military exhibition on March 11, 2021.
Regarding the military operation against Tel Aviv, the Jaffa drone reportedly traveled approximately 2,100 kilometers.
In general, the Jaffa UAV represents a long-range suicide drone with a greater reach compared to the Samad-3, expanding the operational capacity of the Yemeni army to target Tel Aviv and the southern region of occupied Palestine.
Military Knowledge: Sammad-3 Reconnaissance and Suicide Drone
The Jaffa drones signify a growing trend in utilizing technology in modern warfare. These drones were utilized in the attack to either deliver explosives or conduct surveillance missions.
A Yemeni source has recently disclosed that the Jaffa drone used in targeting Tel Aviv by the Yemeni armed forces is domestically produced and was developed after Arab countries intercepted Yemeni weapons intended for Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) port city.
The source mentioned that there is a significant stockpile of these drones, indicating that these drones are not the only weapon that the Yemeni Armed Forces possess.
The Jaffa drone is capable of travelling over 2000 km and is equipped with advanced jamming and infiltration systems, the source noted.
The Yemeni source went on to say that military operations on occupied Jaffa coincide with naval operations, aligned with the objectives announced by the Yemeni army, and that these military operations will persist until Israeli aggression in Gaza comes to an end.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared Tel Aviv as an “unsafe zone” and that they will continue to focus on targeting the Zionist enemy’s internal front and reaching deep into their territory.
