Breaking: Ashraf Ghani Wins Afghan Presidential Election
ISWNews Analysis Group: The Afghan presidential election commission has declared Ashraf Ghani the winner of the election and the new president.
Long-delayed preliminary results from Afghanistan’s election in September, finally released on Sunday, showed that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had come first with 50.64 per cent of the vote.
The Stability and Convergence Election Team (related to Abdullah Abdullah) has called the Afghan presidential election results falsified and said they would never accept the results and defend the votes of the Afghan people.
The team also announced an impending news conference.
