Iraq: The second deadline to announce PM is over
After the first deadline to announcing the PM was over on Sunday by protesting the candidacy of Qosay Soheil, Iraq is in the vacuum of power and the deadline to introduce the PM was extended to Wednesday by president Barham Salih.
Now the second deadline is over, too and there are news that parties agrees over Asaad al-Eidani by al-Bana coalition. Al-Bana coalition is made of several parties, on top of them Fath and State of Law.
Al-Bana coalition wrote a letter to Iraq president and introduced Al-Eidani as PM who is expected to be introduced by Barham Salih to form the cabinet.
Al-Eidani is governor of Basrah at the moment and has a degree in electrical engineering. He is son of chief of Al-Eidani tribe, one of the biggest tribes in Basrah and has good relations with most of political parties and independent figures and is supported by many political groups.
