Negative effect of the Afghanistan crisis on US-Taliban negotiations
In the continuing of the crisis after the Afghanistan presidential election and the confrontation between Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah, the newest controversial issue of these days has been the assigning of negotiation board with the Taliban.
It’s be said Zalmay Khalilzad (US envoy in Afghanistan and responsible of negotiation with the Taliban) after meeting with political figures, have released a list of negotiation board members with Taliban that media group of Abdullah Abdullah has rejected it.
On the other hand Soheil Shahin,Taliban political spokesman has announced the delay in the releasing of the Taliban captives, as an obstacle in the agreement and has rejected the framework determination of Ashraf Ghani government. He also has demanded releasing thr 5,000 prisoners, complete and entirely.
In addition, Indian government representatives are concerned about their investments in Afghanistan and have had meetings with Ashraf Ghani government officials.
As it was expected, the US-Taliban agreement is not going well with the current situation; and due to the intervention of countries such as India that is concerned about the Taliban empowering in Afghanistan and Abdullah Abdullah confrontation with Ashraf Ghani, this political crisis in Afghanistan still continues.
