Turkish F-16s arrive in Azerbaijan
ISWNews Analysis Group: On July 31, five Turkish Air Force F-16s arrived in Azerbaijan to launch a joint military exercise with Azerbaijan.
Joint military exercises of Azerbaijan and Turkey as part of an annual military program called “TurAz Qartali” are held in Azerbaijan every year in late summer, but this year due to rising tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, this military exercise began earlier than other years.
In December 2010, both countries signed a range of treaties provisioning for military assistance should any of the party be attacked by third party.
