US military presence increase in Iraq Kurdistan

Myles Caggins, the pokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve said on Friday in a press conference in Sulaimani that US army is opening a new advising center in Erbil to coordinate coalition forces.

Currently, the US coalition operates an advisory center in Baghdad to work with Iraq’s Joint Operations Command on operational planning and intelligence gathering and to coordinate of air support and logistics.

In recent months, USA under pressure of leaving Iraq and attacks increased to American bases by resistance forces, US army evacuated many bases and gathered their forces in a few larger bases. In addition, US activities in Kurdistan Iraq have increased. It seems USA is planning to invest more in Kurdistan for long term stay in Iraq.
