Turkey builds military base in Oman
ISWNews Analysis Group: According to Persian Gulf states media, Turkey and Oman agreed to erect a Turkish base in Oman.
İbrahim Karagül tweeted that Erdogan signed a contract with sultan of Oman. Akar Hakan, Turkish military expert is also said: Building a Turkish military base in Oman was first mentioned one or two years ago and there are reports that Turkey initiated building a base near the border with Yemen but no official statement or details released yet.
Omani media on the other hand declined building a Turkish base in al-Barimi area but assured the military relation between two countries is close.
Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkish FM, reported of negotiating with Niger government to increase military relation which indicates Turkey’s vast foreign policies.
At the moment there are Turkish bases in Qatar, Somalia, north Cyprus, Iraq, Syria and Libya and building bases in Oman is threat to Saudi Arabia and UAE and in Niger is threat to French interests.
