The UAE Base on Abdul Kuri Island is Ready for Operation
According to satellite images, the construction of the UAE air base on Abd al Kuri has been completed, and its airport is likely to be operational in the next few weeks.
Abd al Kuri Island is part of the Socotra archipelago, spanning approximately 133 square kilometers with a population of around 500 people. In recent years, the UAE has occupied the island and forcibly relocated its residents to Socotra Island and other areas of Yemen in February 2023.
With assistance from the United States and Israel, the UAE is constructing an air base on the island, along with several other military and intelligence facilities.
Operating military aircraft from this island could significantly enhance the UAE’s control over the Gulf of Aden, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and maritime traffic from the coast of Yemen to the Guardafui Channel in the Horn of Africa.
This Island is one the disputed land which require peaceful resolution without bloody fighting, we respect UAE and we will not attempt any military action as long as we Somali people establish strong government, instead we can deal like chine and Uk when they agreed Hong kong as 100 year , but we require at UAE must admit who belong it before any hidden political meeting. Abdul kuri island was part of Somalia, but during Somali civil war in1991 after the collapse of the central government the military unit had shifted to their clans rendering the island empty, and after that Yemen military had invaded , similarly when the civil war in Yemen started UAE had established military base, we hope one day Abdul kuri island will return to the Somali territory without war.
