A New Anti-Zionist Movement Announced in Syria: “Harakat Radd al-Ihtilal”
A group calling itself Harakat Radd al-Ihtilal (Deterrence of Occupation Movement) has announced its formation in Syria through an official statement. The group declared that its primary mission is to confront the Israeli occupation in southern Syria. Following the announcement, slogans attributed to the movement were reportedly seen on walls in various parts of Damascus and its suburbs.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the movement said it would oppose Israeli actions in southern Syria and work toward ending injustice against the people of the Hauran region, as well as reclaiming territories occupied by Israel.
Notably, unlike other existing anti-Israel factions in Syria, the group identifies itself as a Sunni resistance movement operating under the banner of the “new Syria.” It also explicitly stated that it would oppose the formation of the so-called “David Corridor” and what it described as Israel’s “Nile to Euphrates” vision.
